SHOHATTO - Beginner Iaito

We are proud to introduce the Shohatto. This simple yet elegant iaito is designed with quality craftsmanship and practical use as its top priorities.

The name “Shohatto” represents the spirit of the first decisive strike after the draw, symbolizing growth and progress. It encourages iaidoka of all levels to approach their keiko with determination and the drive to advance to the next stage of their development.

Each Shohatto comes standard with black rayon tsuka-ito and sageo, copper dragon-themed menuki, fuchi, and kashira. The tsuba can be selected to match your personal preference. The suguha hamon forms a clean, refined straight line along the blade. The blade itself is crafted from a sand-cast, bubble-free zinc/aluminum alloy. Every Shohatto is hand-made at our workshop in Gifu Prefecture.

*Iaito blades are made from an aluminum-zinc alloy and cannot be sharpened.
