Bogu Measurement! Measuring yourself accurately is very important when you are getting a new bogu.
Any inaccurate measurement can result in an inaccurate bogu set, which can greatly influence your performance.
There are many charts describing how to measure your men and kote size, but it is important to understand the key pointers when measuring.
First of all, make sure it is not loose or too tight when you are measuring. Wrap it around just enough so the measuring tape has no space/loose part from your body.
It is better if you can ask somebody to help you measure yourself.
How to Measure the Men Size:
You will need the following measurement depending on your men.
1. Diagonally around your head.
2. Around your forehead
3. Monomi (the height of your eyeline)
Not all of them will require 2 and 3, but it is required when you are ordering a custom made bogu.
1. Diagonally around your head.
- Make sure the measuring tape is not going on top of your ears.
- Make sure the measuring tape is going over the tip of your chin.
- Make sure the measuring tape is going over the back of your head by the tip of your head. (It is very likely the farthest area from your chin).
2. Around your forehead
- Make sure the measuring tape is straight/horizontal. It will be inaccurate if you are measuring it diagonally.
3. Monomi (the height of your eyeline)
- Measure from the bottom part of your chin to your pupil.
- You can have a better measurement if you measure it by the side of your face.
How to Measure the Kote Size:
You will need the following measurement depending on your kote.
1. Length of your palm
2. Thickness (around) of your palm
3. Your thumb's length
Not all of them will require 3, but it is required when you are ordering a custom made bogu.
1. Length of your palm
- Measure from the tip of your middle finger straight down to the bottom of your palm.
2. Thickness (around) of your palm
- Measure it by wrapping it around your palm.
- Make sure you are measuring it diagonally, not horizontal.
- Make sure the measuring tape goes by the round, most 'meaty' part of your palm.
3. Your thumb's length
- Measure from the tip of your thumb to the joint.
How to Measure the Do and Tare:
You will need your height and waist size for the accurate measurement.
Additional note for Do:
- Having three fingers width space on both side will the be ideal size for your do.
- If the do you have fits good, it is recommended to mention the width of your current do when you are placing your order. The measurement should be based on the inside of the do.
