AO PREMIUM – Bushu Sei-Aizome Single-Layer Kendo Gi
The newest addition to the prestigious AO series by Takemura Sangyo, one of Japan's leading manufacturers specializing in Bushu Sei-Aizome (Authentic Bushu Indigo Dyeing)—a traditional handcrafted craft officially designated by Saitama Prefecture.
The AO PREMIUM Single-Layer Kendo Gi is crafted using genuine Bushu natural indigo, producing a deep, rich color with the distinctive texture and character that only authentic traditional dyeing can offer.
Designed for serious practitioners, this premium kendo gi combines traditional craftsmanship with modern manufacturing to deliver exceptional comfort, durability, and value.
Features
- Made with authentic Bushu Sei-Aizome (Traditional Bushu Indigo Dyeing).
- Rich, elegant indigo color with a beautiful natural texture.
- Traditional back seam (Se-tsugi) construction for improved fit and durability.
- Fully sashiko-stitched below the waist for enhanced strength and structure.
- Deep front overlap helps keep the kendo gi securely in place during practice, reducing shifting and opening.
- Soft, flexible feel comparable to a hand-stitched kendo gi while benefiting from the precision and consistency of modern machine sewing.
- Excellent balance of quality, comfort, and cost performance.
- Pre-washed (washed finish).
- 100% cotton.
- Made in Japan.
Care Instructions
- Hand wash only using a gentle pressing motion.
- Do not use detergent.
- Wash separately, as the indigo dye may transfer color to other garments.
- Because natural cotton and authentic indigo dye are used, gradual shrinkage will occur after washing.
- Expected shrinkage is approximately 2–3 cm after one year of regular use, occurring gradually with each wash.
