Tsuka, dobari part, and kensaki (tip) are all made fat.
Dobari shinai usually breaks easily compared to koto style shinai as the momentum created by the speed causes too much impact towards the tip.
However, this shinai is made durable by making the kensaki (tip) also fat.
The centre of gravity remains close to your hand by making tsuka fat. Additionally the weight from fat kensaki will help create solid strikes; helps you not lose in ai-uchi.
