This dobari jissen-gata shinai uses high quality keichiku bamboo.
The grip (tsuka) is made in oval shape to have more firm grip.

The weight balance is towards the grip, allowing you to have quick swinging speed with a high mobility.
It is great for kendokas who like to execute consecutive strikes and debana-waza. It is also great for close distance fighting too.
The koban (oval) grip allows kendokas to have an accurate blade angle, allowing them to execute kaeshi waza easily.
