Aka-Gashi (Red Oak) Bokuto

This Aka-gashi (red oak) bokuto is very popular type for beginners that can be used for kendo kata.

Unlike a cheap imported bokuto, it only uses a domestic wood that is properly dried.
This bokuto is manufactured at a factory owned by traditional craftsman at Jo-shi in Miyazaki prefecture.
It is a high quality bokuto and yet, the price is still affordable.

It is not durable as white oak bokuto, but it is light weight so it is recommended for women, children, and/or seniors.
It is also popular for sword fighting training.

3 sizes available: Long, Medium, and Short.

入門用や、剣道形用としても人気の高い普及型の赤樫製木刀です。安価な輸入木刀と違いお手頃な価格でありながら、十分に乾燥させた国産の材料のみを使用し、宮崎県都城市の伝統工芸士の工房で製作された高品質な仕上がりとなっております。

同じ樫でも白樫に比べると強度は劣りますが、価格が手頃で軽いので女性や子供、高齢の方等、体力のない方に向いております。また殺陣の稽古用としても人気があります。
