What to prepare:
- Resin Do
- A piece of shinai x 1
- Cloth
- Rubber band x 2
- Hair dryer

When you want to narrow the width:
- Use the hair dryer to warm the central area of the do from the outside.

-
Check that the do is well warmed after hair drying it for 5 minutes.
**Up to the temperature that is considered “a little hot” - Warm up the sides in the same way.
**Do warms up faster when you warm the outside compared to the inside.
- Once the whole do is warmed up, tighten the do himo to adjust the width to your preference.

- It is complete once the do has cooled down!
To widen the width:
- Prepare a piece of shinai in the length that’s little longer than the actual width you want your do to be.
- Cover both ends of shinai with a piece of cloth and stop them using a rubber band.

- Warm up the do the same way mentioned above.
- Stick the shinai in between the do from inside to widen the width.

- It is complete once the do has cooled down!
**This method is not available for fiber do and bamboo do.
The ideal width is to have three fingers width of space on both side.
This is the method used by all the bogu stores in Japan.
It is important to adjust your do according to your body if the do becomes small or big.
Wearing an equipment with a right size will greatly influence your safety and improvement.
Take a look at your bogu and try adjusting your do if necessary!
