TSUYOSHI - Canada Kendo Player Model Dobari Fat & Short Grip Shinai

This player model shinai is used by Tsuyoshi Hamanaka, one of the director of Budogu Zen, who was a member of Team Canada Men's Team for the 15th and 16th World Kendo Championship.

This shinai uses high quality keichiku bamboo.

The unique feature of this shinai is the dobari part of the shinai is located 3cm lower than the standard shinai.

Thus, the tsuka's length is shorter than the other and has more weight balance towards your hands.

It is recommended for kendoka who wants to hold their shinai shorter.

You have an option to upgrade it to madake bamboo.
Madake bamboo has fatter dobari part with more weight balance closer to the tsuka.
The tip is more lighter and feels more solid to swing the shinai.
